Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy has shown tremendous promise for its healing and regenerative benefits in the realm of cosmetics and non-surgical hair restoration. PRP is a nonsurgical, in office treatment which takes about one hour to complete. PRP treatment is made up of injections that are prepared by drawing your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your areas of trouble or placed on as a facial commonly known as a “vampire facial.”

Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair reduction is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the United States. It is a convenient method for the long-term reduction or removal of unwanted hair on the face and/or body. This treatment typically leaves the skin looking and feeling smoother while providing longer-lasting results than other methods. Both men and women are ideal candidates for laser hair reduction/removal in common areas, such as the arms, legs, back, face, armpits, and intimate areas.

Most patients will feel a slight sting when the laser removes the hair follicle, but it is mainly alleviated by the cooling device on the laser handpiece. Patients who are used to getting waxed report that laser hair removal causes much less discomfort than a normal waxing session.

Hair growth occurs in varying cycles. While some hair may be in a growing phase, others may be dormant and not yet "seen" by the laser. Since each follicle grows in various stages, multiple treatment sessions are typically needed to target each hair and follicle at its growing phase. Between treatment sessions, the hairs that do grow can be shaved because the follicle is not affected, but do not wax as it will affect the hair follicle. Laser hair removal eliminates the hair from the follicle, but the laser must “see” the hair to remove it. If a follicle is dormant, it is harder for the laser to see. Everyone responds differently to IPL, and most people will need multiple rounds of treatment before noticing results. The length and number of sessions depend on each individual’s treatment plan. It is worth noting that it can take several weeks to notice the results of IPL treatment, but such results are relatively long-lasting.
